Big week ahead

hey friends- I hope this finds you well. We have a big week ahead of us...take a look at some of the activities that are going on in the community this week. We hope to see you sometime this week!! Jesus Loves you!

See you at the Pole 2006 – "Be Still and Know that I am God…": September 27 2006 National day where Christian students gather around their flagpole to pray- for their friends, their community, their school, their world. Stand up for something on Wed. am 9.27.06. @ Plant -6:45 at the flag pole across from church. @ Middle Schools -1/2 hour before school starts....

October ONE – Special outing for U2Charist. …on october ONE help make poverty history…....This week at High School Youth Group-ONE by ONE we can eliminate extreme poverty, hunger, and AIDS around the globe. Through spoken word, prayer, and the music of U2, we’ll explore how we can make a lasting difference in our world. High School outing to U2CHARIST October 1 5-8:30pm- meet and pick up at the church. This is High School youth group this night – dinner at Moe’s before hand-bring some $$$. Come on out – bring a friend – get involved!!

YOUTH GROUP TIMES 2006-2007

Hey Hey - back in the swing of things....
Well the youth group year has begun in full force. Notice the nights and times for youth group this year. After a consensus vote - High School youth group time has changed to start at 5:30 (yeah sailing team members) to go till 7:30pm. Sorry about the confusion.

High School youth group - Sunday nights Eastminster 2 from 5:30-7:30pm
Middle School youth group - Wednesday nights Eastminster 2 from 6-8pm
*Dinners are included
*friends always welcome!!!

RTU

Hey Friends - For those of you who are going - an info packet was sent out Tuesday for you which had the low down on the trip. If you haven't received the information in the mail you should be later today. Otherwise here is the info below. There are also copies of these packets at the front desk until 5pm tonight which also include forms that need to be taken care of. We'll see you tomorrow.....

Rock the Universe Info:

Our wonderful group will be leaving the church for Universal Studios at 3pm Saturday the 9th. We will be taking the church bus in addition to mini-vans. Gather at the church at or around 2:45pm. Leave church around 3:00pm – staying overnight at a church in Orlando, then heading back to the church in the morning. Pick up 11am on Sunday the 10th at the church.

What my youth needs:
See back of this page for a recommended to bring list. *Note – we are sleeping on the floor of a youth house at Presbyterian Church in Orlando. *Also – Money for dinner and breakfast- which we will stop for. Any money in addition to that is optional. Your child may bring snacks and drinks if they’d like.

The attached forms include the PCPC Liability form for 2006-2007. If you have not filled one out for your youth please do so. As well as the ‘Rules’ form which goes out for all overnight trips. All forms are due Saturday.

TO BRING LIST

 Bedding- pillow, sleeping bag or sheets and blanket –air mattress also allowed – you’re sleeping on the floor FYI
 Toiletries- toothbrushes / paste, comb, brush,
Showers may be available - shampoo, soap, deodorant, razor, hair dryer etc. Towel and washcloth.
 Clothing/sleepwear
 Jacket or sweatshirt –if it is colder
 Shoes- comfy to walk around with
 Rain gear- there’s always a chance it might rain
 Personal medication
 Spending money for travel eats $20
 A good attitude, excitement for ‘rockin the universe’
 Snacks and drinks are welcome- sharing with friends and youth leaders is always good…..

Please don’t bring
- a lot of $ as you will not need it
-your cell phone
-anything outlined in the rules forms
-ipods/mp3/discmans
= you can loose them and it is always fun to socialize

In addition to this info there are also 2 forms which can be found in the packets at the church office desk.

YOUTH GROUP STARTS TONIGHT - Middle School

Youth group starts tonight - Middle School (6-8pm) Come on out for the begining of a good year!!! Dinner is Mac and cheese.

Wow - we had an incredible turn out for this event. As of right now there are no spots available. Check us out next year for RTU 2007.
