March is here - Madness some say....
March 1st already - yikes!!!
Here's a look at what's ahead for the next couple of weeks:
Tonight - MSC - Ash Wednesday. We will gather and talk about the imposition of ashes and then take part in the service. Lent is here -what does that mean?
Sunday March 5th- HSC - the PCPC youth Frisbee tour continues. We will take the field (or bus for that matter) at 3:30pm to head to Dunedin to play our firends at 1st Pres Dunedin there. Cookout on the field $5 suggested recommendation for dinner that night (but not mandatory).
NEXT WEEKEND:
30 Hour Famine: We fast so others may live-This year’s youth program
for PCPC’s mission fair, students will take part in the discipline of fasting while contributing money to the church’s mission causes and World Vision.
HS students will start their fast after lunch Friday March 10th and fast till 6pm Saturday night with Juice breaks in between. MS students will start their fast in the AM (last meal dinner Friday night) and fast until 6pm Saturday night. Fasting is optional. If students would like they can opt to fast for a meal, or two instead of the time frame. If students are not going to fast or will be eating lunch they are asked to bring bagged lunches that day to the church. Students are asked to RSVP their participation in the fast weekend no later then March 7th.
For 30 Hour Famine students are asked to contribute $65.00. $30 of this will go to World Vision, originators of the famine. Checks made payable to PCPC.

$30 will feed a child in a developing country for 1 month. An additional $30 will go towards PCPC missions in which the students will choose what aspect of mission to give to:
Habitat House Hurricane Relief
Metro Ministries Faith Café
Alpha House Uganda
Haiti Judeo Health Clinic
The remaining $5 will go to the youth program for the weekend’s activities. If students choose, they can be sponsored to fast and the remaining money will go towards World Vision and PCPC Mission. Sponsorship is not required and is optional. Students may use World Vision’s sponsorship collection materials – they are located outside Melissa’s office in the church and in the youth lounge of PCPC. If students choose to seek sponsorship for 30 Hour they are encouraged to seek sponsorship wisely and with discretion- explaining the event in its entirety. The contribution cost can also be contributed by the student from his or her own financial resource or parental involvement. The contribution fee is not mandatory for students to take part in the weekend event.
We are excited about what God has planned for this weekend. As we approach the fast students will receive a devotional guide to walk them through the practice of fasting. Please be in prayer for the weekend. Questions please feel free to contact Melissa at 253-6047 x237 – in church office. Blessings!!!
