Heros where?

Good Morning Class - I wonder how things are going now that everyone has started class. Yesterday I got back from being away for the past week as I was visiting my friends and fam in Boston. I had some very interesting conversations with some teenagers up there about school and Paris Hilton - random I know. The kids in New England are still on vacation and will not start again until after Labor day - hmmmmmm - silly New Englanders - all the cool kids go back to school wicked early in August.

The question with my friend's sister was - "What is the difference between Paris Hilton and Brittney Spears?" Now many of us, myself included would say nothing - in general sense ....both pretty stars in the news all the time. But my teenage buddy made it known that the two were not alike - that Brittnay was, perhaps shall we say, beneath Paris and that Paris could do no wrong. I thought it was interesting how my friend could call Brit on such "innappropriate" behavior and still claim Paris as her hero.... in my book they both live in another world called Hollywood where their lives are being watched and scrutinize daily.

Whether they make good choices or bad - which seem to get in the paper more- a perverbial 'God loves them just the same' must suffice from my sighs over pop culture..... and perhaps we need to dig a bit more beyone Star magazine or Teen People (not that these are bad mags) to find role models that are worthy of our "hero" label. - Just a thought * we welcome your thoughts on such matters..... (A.R - you rock - thanks for the conversation!!)

On a different note - I was able to see my favorite team beat the Rangers Monday night at Fenway - oh so sweet!!!! *red sox nation 4ever

**If you see one at church - hug a college student....their leaving soon :(

Blessings for your day
